SNAP Benefits

Need help making ends meet so you can focus on studies?

You may qualify for $135/month in groceries.

Food insecurity and hunger can affect anyone. Get the help you deserve through SNAP – the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. SNAP benefits are available for nearly 75,000 low-income community college students, who are enrolled in career and technical education programs.

For assistance with your SNAP application, make an appointment to meet with the Nutrition Outreach and Education Program Coordinator on campus. Appointments are held at the Resource Hub in Elston Hall, Room 220H, on the following dates:

  • February 27
  • March 5 and 19
  • April 2, 16, and 30

If possible, bring these documents to your appointment:

  • Photo ID
  • SUNY Student Verification of Enrollment (obtain at the Registrar's Office with student ID)
  • Work-study proof of eligibility OR proof of wages (at least 20 hours weekly)
  • For wages paid weekly, provide four of the most recent pay stubs
  • For wages paid bi-weekly, provide two of the most recent pay stubs
  • Most recent rent receipt
  • Most recent utility bill
  • Most recent child care receipt
  • Any schooling costs (books, uniforms, etc)
